Through The Fire

"HE, that being God has established me in victory over every adversary and adversarial spirit- I SHALL NOT BE MOVED!" This particular quote gives me great inspiration to endure whatever situation I find myself in. And it is helping me right now!

So, as many of you already know, I was cast for this new gospel stage play called "Tell Hell I Ain't Comin," written by Marcia P. Samuels. This play depicts a preacher named Bishop Theodore Allgood who is an ordinary man that ends up in Hell. His experience terrifies him as 1) he doesn't understand how HE got to Hell, and 2) he is witnessing others in this place of never ending torment. This play has a powerful message as it reminds us that Hell is REAL and I'm looking forward to it someday being shared abroad.

Now being that this was my acting debut, you can imagine that it caused a bit of anticipation. But it really allowed me to experience another realm of the Arts (acting, stage production, live audiences, adlib, gospel drama). There were (3) shows planned for this weekend and unfortunately only one show could be performed. How did this all happen, some may ask? Somehow, a fire literally broke out on stage during Saturday's matinee. Apparently the stage curtains that are supposed to be non-flammable in theatres caught a spark and went into flames and smoke. For a moment, people thought it was a part of the show! Everyone had to be evacuated and it became clear that the Saturday and Sunday shows were no longer happening. In the midst of this, my thoughts were racing: Is this actually going on? How could this be?? What just happened? As I sat there backstage while this curtain caught on fire...it was as if I was watching a movie. I just couldn't believe what I was seeing at the time. I literally sat still until I heard the voice of God speak to me. He said to me, simply "I've got you covered." I know, I know-for some of you this may sound as a real general word...but for me, it was exactly what I needed to hear.

This word assured me just that: SAFETY...not just from the fire but safety from what was going on in the spirit realm. I totally believed God allowed the fire to happen because there were things in the atmosphere He wanted to deal with. So, He covered me by fire-imagine that-and it wasn't strange either. Listen, I'm not trying to preach or be deep at all. I just know when God speaks..I listen! This was truly a manifestation of the Holy Spirit working. My Bishop says it this way, "If God's words govern your thinking your destiny will be favorable. If your thinking is governed by society you will miss your assignment in God." I
really don't wanna miss my assignment...do you?

I want to say thanks again to Marcia P. Samuels and her team for such an awesome message and for allowing me to be a part of this production. This message must be shared with the world...I believe it will be and I hope to be a part of it. Let me close by saying I appreciate all of the positive and encouraging words that you have sent through Twitter, Facebook and text message! There is such a rest in knowing that God is in control and that He does ALL things well. I've learned so much, but most importantly, this experience has truly made me realize that it's not about me but ALL about God.

I'm really looking forward to what God has next in store.

Live Life, Love God
